While the pandemic has certainly affected many of us in our mental health, it’s a topic that was already slowly but surely gaining momentum in how we view our whole health. So the question is what do you do to take care of your mental health when things to worry over are abundant? Answer: you find ways to care for your mind.
Here are 3 CDC Tips for seemingly small ways to practice self-care daily!
- Treat Yourself– and we don’t mean with sweets! Sometimes we feel that healthy foods are expensive, so consider an investment in healthy foods an investment in yourself instead of a band-aid, like unhealthy “comfort foods” would be.
- Get Moving– because exercise lessens overall fatigue, anxiety, and sadness. Plus, it can help you sleep better so your body can do what it does in those crucial rest periods!
- Find Your Unwind– hobbies like yoga, meditation, gardening, journaling, reading or volunteering with something that you care about can give your brain the break it needs to find more joy.
Remember that you matter. If you still don’t feel like yourself, and self-care doesn’t seem to be enough, don’t be afraid to find help from a qualified care provider.
