Nationwide there have been 239,279 reported cases and 5,443 reported deaths associated with COVID-19.
Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases said in a CDC telebriefing on 3-4-2020: “States are reporting results quickly and in the event of a discrepancy between CDC and state case counts, the state case counts should always be considered more up to date.”
