It’s important to keep yourself and your environment clean in order to fight the odds of contracting viruses like the seasonal flu and the newly emerging COVID-19 aka Coronavirus. Chances are that statement doesn’t surprise you. However, knowing what cleaning products fit your family’s lifestyle and can kill those viruses on surfaces is another story. Luckily the EPA has public resources for choosing your products, including an emerging viral pathogen program that helps determine the best products for use against new viruses like SARS-CoV-2 which causes COVID-19.

The process is easy enough: First thing, check your cleaning supplies for an EPA number, and then compare that number to the lists below. Then, follow the instructions on the label or online in accordance with safe and most effective use of that product as determined by the manufacturer.
