Amid the outbreaks of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and as always, we want our patients and communities to be armed with the best practices for keeping healthy. Keeping in mind that we are still immersed in flu season, it’s important that everyone remember that availability of our healthcare resources is one of our biggest assets. Here are four reminders on things you can do to help yourself and your community as Coronavirus spreads:
- Get your flu shot and encourage others to get their flu shot, if you haven’t already. Please call ahead to our centers if you are interested in flu shot availability.
- Wash your hands, often and thoroughly.
- Cough/sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands if you cannot get a tissue quickly enough.
- Maintain distance between yourself and others (think 6, or even 10 feet). This could also mean self-quarantine if you’re sick or have underlying conditions that make you more susceptible to severe illnesses like the flu.
As Coronavirus spreads our healthcare resources will need to be available for those affected. There are only so many care providers, beds, and materials available to care for sick people. Our communities need to be diligent in preventing an unnecessary drain on resources from the flu. Check out our posts on Friday afternoons for the latest flu and Coronavirus facts.
As always, MEDcare wants you to be healthy and safe. Our centers are open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm- no appointment necessary. You can also use our Save My Spot tool here. If you need us, we look forward to helping you Get Better. Faster!
