These CDC US reports includes all 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and US Virgin Islands. These are cases reported to the CDC since January 21, 2020.
Nationwide there have been 6,656,799 reported cases and 197,116 reported deaths associated with COVID-19.
Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases said in a CDC telebriefing on 3-4-2020: “States are reporting results quickly and in the event of a discrepancy between CDC and state case counts, the state case counts should always be considered more up to date.”
